Costume designers research clothing and textiles, carefully tailoring the costume to coordinate with the doll designers original intent. Skilled artisans make the molds and procelain parts are fired in searing kilns for hours, then realistically handpainted. Doll bodies are joined to the bisque parts, the finished doll is dressed and boxed.
